John Lennon is a soundtrack album of popular music composed by John Lennon for the 1988 documentary film, Imagine: John Lennon. Originally released that year as a double album, it now remains available on one CD.
Bridging his two musical phases together, as a member of The Beatles and a solo artist (similar to George Harrison's earlier The Best of George Harrison), Imagine: John Lennon is a career-spanning collection of Lennon's many musical highlights. In addition there are a couple of heretofore unreleased recordings: an acoustic demo of "Real Love" taped in 1979 (an alternate recording of which would be finished by The Beatles for 1996' s Anthology 2) and a rehearsal take of "Imagine" in mid-1971 before the final take was captured. It also features for the first time a clean-intro version of "A Day in the Life", that would appear later on the CD release of The Beatles' 1967–1970 compilation.
Imagine: John Lennon, with its wealth of stock Lennon footage and self-narration, proved to be a well-received film and its soundtrack sold well in the US, reaching #31 and going gold. In the UK, the album peaked at #64.
The project arrived at a timely juncture and was successful in thwarting the then-released The Lives of John Lennon by Albert Goldman, a controversial and reputation-tarnishing book which many dismissed as fiction, including Ono and Lennon's close friends, as well as the remaining Beatles.
"Something" is a song released by The Beatles in 1969.It was on the album Abbey Road. The song has been covered by over 150 artists including Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Radiohead, Julio Iglesias, Smokey Robinson and Joe Cocker, and is the second best Beatles song after "Yesterday".It relation with the history of the group is that it is the first song written by George Harrison and also it is the second best song after Yesterday.I like this song because it is the best, I think. I also like it because have a lot of drums very good it is very easy to sing and very slow. It drummer is Ringo Starr, and when I will to play it.The Abbey Road album was the first official Beatles release to feature "Something"; it was released on 26 September 1969 in the United Kingdom, with the United States' release following on 1 October, and performed well, topping the charts in both countries.

This song was composed by John Lennon and published in two different versions in 196. The first version was recorded on 30 May 1968, was a slow blues song. Led by John Lennon, another version of the song was recorded in July of that year, this time was faster, sounding like hard rock with distorted guitars. With the song "Revolution", Lennon began his political commitment and promote values such as pacifism, it would still be reflected in "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine", recorded solo. John Lennon began writing "Revolution" in late winter of 1968, while still in Rishikesh, India, for his meditation lessons.
This song (Revoltion) is one of my favorites along with others such as the John Lennon's song "Imagine" and I also like the song "Yellow submarine" that was of Paul McCartney and the song written by Jhon Lennon "Help".
In this song Paul McCartney in vocal, backing vocal, piano and bass guitar. John Lennon in backing vocal, organ. George Harrison in backing vocal, guitar. Ringo Starr in drums and tambourine. George Martin the producer.
McCartney said that he wrote it as a production number for the movie Magical Mystery Tour, supporting a old-fashioned dance segment that starts with the Beatles coming down agrand staircase in white tuxedoes. After they descend, boy scouts, cadets and other groups march through. John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are wearing red carnations, while McCartney's is black. The carnation difference contributed to the Paul is dead controversy.
The song was recorded in three sesions on 22 August, 16 September and 29 September of 1967. I like this song so much because I like the dance he made and it's my favorite song sing by Paul McCartney by main voice and because this song is about the Paul's dead. In this song I also like how Ringo Starr touch the drums. Heard this song is great.
George Martin said: “I did try a second take ... but John's voice had gone.”
The Beatles' cover was released on 2 March 1964 in the U.S as a single, with "There's a Place" as its B-side.
In the UK, "Twist and Shout" was 100released on an EP with three other tracks from the Please Please Me album. In Canada, it became the title to the second album of Beatles.
The Beatles continued to play the song live until the end of their August 1965 tour of North America. They had recorded "Twist and Shout" on nine occasions for BBC television and radio broadcasts, the earliest of which was for the Talent Spot radio show on 27 November 1962.I like too much the effor that John did the first time they recorded this song, because even having a cold he sing the best he can. I like this song too much.
The Beatles song ''Bad Boy'' was written by Larry Williams in 1959.
They realeased them in the 14 of June of 1965 but the date of their recorded was in the 10 of May of 1965 in the Abbey Road Show in London (England). Along with ''Dizzy Miss Lizzy'', ''Bad Boy'' was recorded the 10 of May (The date of Larry Williams birthday).
Bad Boy was first realeased on Beatles VI in the 14 of June of 1965.
In this song Jhon Lennon play the guitar and singer, Paul McCartney on bass, George Harrison on double-tracked lead guitar and Ringo Starr on drums and tambourine.
When I heard the title of this song I think It can be very good and I decided to hear them.
This is one of my favourites Beatles song with other of Jhon Lennon. I think this song was singer in memory of Larry Williams in the 10 of May of 1965, because this day was his birthday. I like the double-tracked lead guitar of George Harrison and the drums and tambourine of Ringo Starr in this song, I like very much.
The author was Paul McCartney.
“Yesterday” is the song with more transmissions on the radio and all around the world.
Yesterday also has a lot of different versions of different groups, more than 3000.
Yesterday is a ballad of 2 minutes and 3 seconds, and it is the first Beatle´s song in which only one of them participates, in this case Paul McCartney with a string quarter.
The music for “Yesterday” came to Paul in a dream. He just woke up one morning with the song in his head. George Martin loved the song, but he thought that it needed something different, and because of that Paul recorded it alone, without the rest of the band.
The track was recorded at the Abbey Road Studios. Some people say that Paul recorded it by himself, without involving the rest of the ban, and other people say that the band tried different instruments, but they didn`t like them.
“Yesterday” is a beautiful sad song about lost love. I like this song because the lyrics are quiet beautiful, but the music is more beautiful than the lyrics.

However, it failed to reach number 1 on the American charts. A contributing factor may have been the "Bigger than Jesus" controversy.
It became the title song of the 1968 animated United Artist film, also called Yellow Submarine, and the soundtrack album to the film, released as part of the Beatles' music catalogue.
The "Yellow Submarine" single was the Beatles' thirteenth UK single. It was released in the UK on 5 August as a "double A side". The Revolver album was released the next day.
The single was released during the controversies about the "Butcher Cover" (The yesterday and today album cover) and John Lennon's remarks about Christianity, and are cited as part of the reason the song failed to reach number 1 on all US charts.
"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" is a song by the beatles released on the double-disc album the beatles and later released as a single. It was written primarily by paul mcarny though credited to lennon/mcarny

It was first performed by The Beatles on Our World, the first live global television link, watched by 400 million in 26 countries, the programme was broadcast via satellite on 25 June 1967. Is the most famous song of the group.
The name of the album is Magical Mystery Tour. Released on 7 july 1967.The structure of the song is complex. John Lennon is the lead and background vocals and he play the harpsichord and banjo. Paul McCartney is the background vocals and he play the lead guitar and the violin. Ringo Star play the drums. George Martin play the piano, orchestration and production. Session musicians played strings, brass, woodwind and accordion as conducted by mike vickers. Friends and studio people made hand claps and sang backgroung vocals.
I like this song because the letter is about the love, that the love is necessary to win everything we want.
I like this song, because the letter is from a girl who can be free, choose freedom, to do and all and many people with this point you may feel identified (all world feels identified with any song by its lyrics ).
McCartney and Lennon are the authors of this letter of song. Lennon wrote it is responsible for playing the guitar and sing, Paul, makes vocals, bass and guitar, George do the voices and guitar, and finally Ringo on drums, tambourine and handclaps .
Ticket of Ride was also the soundtrack of a movie.

Eleanor Rigby is a song by The Beatles released simultaneously on the Revolver album and as a single double A-side. Prinicipal The song was written by Paul McCartney but credited to Lennon / McCartney. With a double string quartet orchestrated by George Martin and the striking lyrics about loneliness, the song made to continue the transformation of the group, mainly in the Pop making see a band of more serious and experimental study. Rolling Stone placed it at number 137 of its list of the 500 greatest songs ever.
The song was written in John's house and the original name was "Ola Na Tungee" and the priest was called Father McCartney, until they realized that everyone would think they were talking about Paul's father, so I changed the name MacKenzie.
Paul always maintained that the name "Eleanor" I take the actress Eleanor Bron (who starred in the movie Help!) And the name "Rigby" was a grocery store located in the city of Bristol. But during the 80s, someone found a grave in the courtyard of St. Peter's church (where they met John and Paul), whose epitaph was inscribed the name "Eleanor Rigby" (dead on October 10, 1939 at age 44 years).
''She loves you ya ya...'' is a song written by Jhon lennon And Paul McCartney and was publied on 1963 by the Beatles.
She loves you was the first theme by the Beatles.
One of the curiosites os this song is that, under the title ''Sie liebt dich'' was one of the two themes that they does in German. (The other was ''komm, gib mir deine hand''- I want to hold your hand) was edited on Germany and on The United States on 1964.
McCartney and Jhon Lennon started composing ''She loves you'' after a concert at the Majestic Ballroom in Newcastle(Hotel).
They began writing the song on the tour bus, and continued it later at nigth in their Hotel Newcastle.
Melody and Lyrics.
She Loves You avoids the use of a brigde, instead using a refrain to join the various verser.
The lyrics were largely uncoventional, again constrasting with the simplicity of ''I Want To Hold Your Hand'' Critics panned the song, dismissing the ''yeah yeah yeah'' as an uncouth slang from a fad band.
The ''yeah''s were to have a great effect on The Beatles image -- In Europe they are known as '' The yeah yeahs''.
''Drive my Car'' is a song written by Paul McCartney,
with lyrical contributions of John Lennon
and first released by The Beatles on the 1965 album
Rubber Soul.''Drive My Car'' was used as the opening
track for the album.
The song's male narrator is told by a woman that she is going to be a famous film star, and she offers him the opportunity to be her chauffeur, adding a 'and maybe I'll love you'.
McCartney also describe the song as a comedy number in Melody Maker two days after the song's recording. 96
''Drive my Car'' was recorded at Abbey Road Studios on 13 October 1965 in the Beatles' first recording session to extend past midnight.
I really like this song,I didn't knew about them until 5 days ago when one of my friends say me that this song was written by The Beatles, before I heard this song in the TV but I've never known about them.

It was written by Paul Mcartney in 1967. It was included in The Magical Mistery Tour.
McCartney said of the song:
"Fool on the Hill was mine and I think I was writing about someone like Maharishi. His detractors called him a fool. Because of his giggle he wasn't taken too seriously ... I was sitting at the piano at my father's house in Liverpool hitting a D 6th chord, and I made up Fool on the Hill."
(Maharishi was a leader of the transcendental meditation movement)
I've choosen it because it is my mother's Beatle's favourite song and because I think it has beautiful lirycs.
It talks about a man who lives along in a hill, has a ridicoulos smile and everyone thinks his a fool, hi talks perfecly loud but nobody ever hears him but he never seems to notice. He never shows his feelings, he never hears them.
"But the fool on the hill, sees the sun going down and the eyes in his head, sees the world spining round ".

I like it because is rhythmic and I think it's a happy song and I also think that this song was played by all the Beatles.I also like it because they played some instruments that I like and also the melody is well, so I think that this song is the best of all the songs they have recorded.
This song was written in 1968 by John Lennon and appeared in the White album. It was published the 22th of november 1968.
This was the first song in the album where Ringo Starr appeared in the drums, because, before, he has to left the recording sessions for a short time and been replaced with Paul McCartney in the previous songs like "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Dear Prudence".
The song refers to several earlier Beatles' songs, including "Strawberry Fields Forever","I am the walrus","Lady Madonna","The fool on the hill"and "Fixing a hole".There are also subtle, passing references to"Theres' a place","I am looking through you"and "Within you without you".
Well, in general this is the only song I like of the Beatles because I don't like very much.
