Quito
History:
It is the capital city of Ecuador in northwestern South America. Ecuador is located in the north-central Guayllabamba in the watersheds, in the eastern slopes of the Pichincha [1], an active stratovolcano in the Andes mountains. With a population of 1,397,698 according to the latest census (2001), and, according to city estimates, about 1,504,991 in 2005, [2] Quito is the second most populous city in Ecuador, after Guayaquil. It is also the capital of the Pichincha province and the headquarters of the Metropolitan District of Quito. The county recorded a population of 1,842,201 inhabitants in the 2001 national census. In 2008 the city was designated as the headquarters of the Union of South American Nations [3].
The elevation of the city's main square (Plaza de la Independencia and Plaza Grande [4]) is 2.800 m (about 9186 feet), so Quito the second highest administrative capital city of the world (after La Paz, Bolivia), and the highest legal capital (ahead of Sucre, also in Bolivia, and Bogota, Colombia).
The central plaza of Quito is 25 km (15 miles) south of Ecuador, the city lies within about 1 km (0.6 miles) of zero latitude. A monument and museum marking the general location of Ecuador is known locally as La Mitad del Mundo (Half of the world), to avoid confusion, as the word is Spanish for Ecuador Ecuador.
Quito, along with Krakow, was the first Cultural World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO in 1978 [5].
Quito origins date back to the first millennium, when the Quito tribe occupied the area and eventually formed a commercial center. According to Juan de Velasco's 1767 book History of the Kingdom of Quito, the Quito were conquered by the Caras tribe, who founded the Kingdom of Quito about 980 CE.
Places to visit:
Because Quito is about 40 kilometers (24.85 miles) long and 5 km (3.1 miles) at its widest, most major city roads run from north to south. The two major highways that go from the northern part of the city to the south are the Eastern Avenue (Eastern Peripheral Corridor) in the hills bordering the east of the city, Western Avenue on the west side of town in the volcano Pichincha. August 10th Street is also extended from north to south through most of the city, running through the middle of it. Due to the hills and the curved shape of the city, a grid pattern is very difficult to understand. The historic city center is based on a grid pattern, despite the hills, the streets Venezuela, Chile, García Moreno, and Guayaquil are the most important.
Some of the most important avenues in Quito are:
Avenida Rio Amazonas
Avenida de la Prensa
December 6th Avenue
Shyris Avenue
Avenida Nations, United
August 10th Ave
Avenida Diego Vazquez
Avenida Eloy Alfaro
Avenue of the Republic
Avenida República del Salvador
Avenida de América
Avenida Patria
Avenida Francisco de Orellana
General Av Rumiñahui
Interoceanic Avenue
Avenida Gonzalez Suarez
Avenida Real Audiencia
Galo Plaza Avenue
Avenida El Inca
Napo Avenue
Avenida Vicente Maldonado
and some parks such as:
Metropolitan
La Carolina
El Ejido
The Alameda

Theres nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,

lets here it for New York, New York, New York "
TASCHEN's New York
This is my favourite book. It is a guide about New York best hotels, restaurants and shops. The book it is written by Daisann Mclane, but is about Angelica Taschen experiences in The Big Apple. Photographs are by Poul Ober.
It contains lots of cool hotels like The Pod Hotel; places to eat like the Waverly Inn and places for shopping like the Apple Store.
It also comes with a pocket-sized map of Manhattan which lists all the shops, restaurants and hotels in the book.
I´ve liked it so much because its very fun, useful and because it contains especial and unusual information about New York that you wouldn´t find in other books. I recommended it to everyone, but especially to people that love or want to go to New York.

Tokyo
Tokyo is considered the capital and largest metropolitan area of Japan. It is located on the eastern side of the main island, Honshü, and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands.
Its population is about 12,989,000,000 people.
Tokyo was originally a small fishing village called Edo. In 1603, the town became the centre of his nationwide military goverment. Edo grew into one of the largest and most populated cities in the world by the 18th century. In 1869, the 17-year-old Emperor Meiji moved to Edo. Tokyo was already the nation's political and cultural centre and being the emperor's residence made it a facto imperial capital as well with the former Edo Castle becoming the Imperial Palace. The City of Tokyo was established and continued to be the capital until it was abolished as a municipality in 1943. Central Tokyo has been designed since about 1900 to be centered major train stations in a high-density fashion.
Tokyo suffered two major catastrophes in the 20th century, but it recovered from both of them. One was the 1923 Great Kantö earthquake and the other was the World War II. The bombing of Tokyo in 1944 and 1945 was almost as devasting as the atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. The 1970s brought new high-rise development such as Sunshine 60, which made the population increase 11,000,000 people.
Tokyo's subway and computer network became one of the busiest in the world as more and more people moved to the area. In the 1980s real estate prices increased a lot during a real estate and debt bubble. The bubble burst in 1990s and many companies, banks, etc., were caught with mortage backed debts. A major recession followed, making the 1990s Japan's lost decade from which it is now slowly recovering.
Tokyo still sees new urban developments like the Ebisu Great Palace or Tennozu Isle.

Imagine
Imagine:
John Lennon is a soundtrack album of popular music composed by John Lennon for the 1988 documentary film, Imagine: John Lennon. Originally released that year as a double album, it now remains available on one CD.
Bridging his two musical phases together, as a member of The Beatles and a solo artist (similar to George Harrison's earlier The Best of George Harrison), Imagine: John Lennon is a career-spanning collection of Lennon's many musical highlights. In addition there are a couple of heretofore unreleased recordings: an acoustic demo of "Real Love" taped in 1979 (an alternate recording of which would be finished by The Beatles for 1996' s Anthology 2) and a rehearsal take of "Imagine" in mid-1971 before the final take was captured. It also features for the first time a clean-intro version of "A Day in the Life", that would appear later on the CD release of The Beatles' 1967–1970 compilation.
Imagine: John Lennon, with its wealth of stock Lennon footage and self-narration, proved to be a well-received film and its soundtrack sold well in the US, reaching #31 and going gold. In the UK, the album peaked at #64.
The project arrived at a timely juncture and was successful in thwarting the then-released The Lives of John Lennon by Albert Goldman, a controversial and reputation-tarnishing book which many dismissed as fiction, including Ono and Lennon's close friends, as well as the remaining Beatles.
